Prof. Amr Ezzat Salama
Secretary General of the Association of Arab Universities, Jordan, Former Minister of Higher Education, Scientific Research and Technology, Egypt
Dr. Amr Ezzat Salama is the Secretary General of the Association of Arab Universities and is a Professor of Structural Engineering in Helwan University in Egypt. He was the Counselor of the American University in Cairo (AUC) and was the focal point between the Egyptian Authorities and AUC Administration. He maintained excellent contacts with Ministries, Egyptian Universities and the Supreme Council of Universities which allowed him to develop good relations with AUC and help implement accreditation process for all AUC academic degrees. He is also the Former Minister of Higher Education, Scientific Research and Technology of Egypt.
Formerly, he worked as a Professor of Civil Engineering and Chaired the University’s Centre for Technology Development. In 2006, he received the Excellency Award and in 2012, he received the State Award for Science in Engineering Science in 2012.
Dr. Amr Ezzat Salama is a Ph.D holder in Structural Engineering from Heriot-Watt Edinburgh University, United Kingdom and holds his Masters in Maritime Civil Engineering from Manchester, United Kingdom he did his Bachelor’s Degree of Science in Civil Engineering from Cairo University.
