Ventje Rahardjo spent most of his professional career in banking & finance since 1980 to 2017. He was previously the Managing Director at numerous banks including Bank Mandiri, Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BRI), Bank Internasional Indonesia (Now PT. Bank Maybank Indonesia Tbk.) and founder & CEO of BRI Syariah. Additionally, he was also Chairman of Bank Syariah Mandiri and Mandiri AXA General Insurance. Moving on from his career in banking & finance, he was appointed as Special Assistant to Minister of Fisheries & Marine Affairs until October 2019. Since January 2019 until present, he was appointed by President Jokowi as the Executive Director of National Islamic Finance Committee (Komite Nasional Keuangan Syariah / KNKS), a committee chaired by the President to coordinate and accelerate development of Islamic economy and finance in Indonesia.
